Stale Bread
We take the trouble of going to the store and buying a loaf of bread.
We bring it home and we do everything possible to protect that loaf from the air outside of the bag so it won't go stale
Why don't we do the same thing with our children. I've been told so many times that I'm overprotective when it comes to raising our son.. I'm sorry I just don't want him to spoil or go stale . I don't want him to be spoiled by the air of the outside world . The world will do that soon enough.i know I can't protect him for ever , but it's my duty to protect him and to guard his heart. Proverbs 4:23 Says to guard your heart, But he isnt old enough to know how to guard his heart responsibly so I will . I feel that way because he is 11. He is not old enough to know all the dangers. He does know right from wrong. But like I tell him all the time, be careful of what you listen to and what you watch because you can never unhear it or unsee it, and some of those things can change who you are and will become. I knew too much too soon in life, I wish I had been a child a little longer. I wish i didn't want to grow up so fast or go against my parents will so much , but I did. I know I can't protect him forever but while he is in these extremely impressionable years and the times that we are living in , I want him to know who he is in God's eyes before the world tells him who they think he is. Well that was on my heart before I even thought about the devotional today, so I am writing what I feel like the Lord put on my heart. Maybe there is a parent out there Like me, who feels like their children are missing out. I want them to know sometimes what the world sees as missing out is actually what God sees and knows as the waiting for something better , Let our kids be kids while they can. poor love and value into them and let them know they are loved. a changed world starts at home. I love yall remember be blessed and be a blessing.
