Katherine Schneider, Ph.D., is a retired clinical psychologist living in Eau Claire, Wisc., and has been active in disability education throughout her career through writing and other advocacy. Katherine received an award for superior journalism about disability issues through the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University. Locally, Katherine started the Access Eau Claire fund through the Eau Claire Community Foundation to help nonprofit organizations work toward full inclusion of people with disabilities.
Dave Hyde has been a counselor in a prison, a door-to-door salesman, telephone salesman, library technology specialist throughout his career and now works with teachers and parents at the Wisconsin Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Dave too have been involved in advocacy and legislation for the blind.
Katherine does not see with her eyes, but rather through her other senses and her Seeing Eye dog. Dave uses his mobility cane.
