In this week's show we're going nocturnal with Chopin, Mendelssohn and Mozart, an heading East with Ippolitov-Ivanov, Mussorgsky and Borodin. My Classical Chorus features the Sanctus from Karl Jenkins's The Armed Man. My birthday this week isn't a composer, but a radio station. Ribble FM celebrated it's 4th birthday on Saturday, 25th July, so to mark the occasion I'm playing something especially for the station manage Lee Roe, without whom there wouldn't be station at all! One of his favourites is The Blue Danube by Strauss, so that's what I chose! We also have pieces by Albinoni, Bach, Beethoven, Delibes, Marquez, Reicha, Holst, Torelli, Khachaturian, Bizet, Debussy and Haydn - something for everyone I hope. I hope you enjoy the programme.
