Moses wanted to see the other side of the Jordan River - the promised land, but he could not no matter how hard he tried to 'convince' God. He got rebuked for it. However that sacrifice enable a lot more to posses the land. We are saved today because Christ made the similar sacrifice on Calvary's Cross.
