Pastor Allen Pangburn teaches us to own up to our mistakes. Pastor warns us not to build a foundation upon excuses for our shortcomings. "Excuses are the nails which build the house of failure."
Dr. Bell teaches us the importance of knowing who the master of the storm is. Jesus is in control, and He has all the authority. In the storm we learn to grow our faith.

Each one of us has been given a specific call by God and our lives must be lived with that goal in mind. While time is uncertain, God still has a plan for every life. We must choose to seek God's call for our lives and not waste time in meeting that goal.

Better leaders are made by becoming better servants. We must allow God to work through us to make a difference in this world. Effective servant-leaders are those who represent Christ, do everything with a passion, and preach the entire word.

President Ward continues on the topic of Victory from Hebrews 5. The proof of maturity is found in recognizing the difference between good and evil. This comes by continual growth through breaking the cycle of sin and giving up the weight. Victory over sin and temptation comes when we make a plan to get rid of every sin and remove everything that we cannot carry from our lives. Success in lifetime ministry results from laying down the weight and allowing God to work.

Progressing in God's purpose for your life is based on obedience to Christ. As we continue to sow, we will reap the rewards of either sowing to the Word or the flesh. While the harvest can change based on what we do, the inheritance is based on who we are in Christ. We must choose to live for Christ as heirs.

Inaccurate mindsets, like Job's, create faulty beliefs surrounding God's character. We must search the Gospel of Jesus for a correct understanding of who God is. God does not cause bad things to happen, He restores what has been stolen by the enemy. We must listen to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus instead of the lies of the world.

President Ward continues his message on "Praying Through" by examining the story of Jacob in Genesis 32. Jacob encountered God in Bethel and Peniel. In Bethel, Jacob met with God, but it wasn't until Jacob had a vision of God in Peniel that he obtained the victory and allowed God to work in his life. God wants to place something new in us, and this comes from seeking God's face. It is up to us to let God deal with our flesh so that we can grow into all that God has called us to. The process may be uncomfortable, but it will be worth it!

Instead of sitting at His feet and listening to His words, Martha was consumed by her burdens and worry. The one best thing is to sit in His presence and absorb revelation. We must make the decision to commit to sitting at Jesus' feet daily.

What we think about determines what we become and displays what is going on inside. Without the Holy Spirit recharging and refreshing our minds, our thoughts have the natural tendency to be negative. We must allow the Holy Spirit to heal our thinking by trusting God and believing the positive.
