We like to think that we are autonomous beings completely in control of our life and our emotions. Yet, in reality, we encounter situations outside of our control and ability, and bad news wears us down until hope decays into bouts of cynicism. We find ourselves desperately in need of Good News — news of something that will overcome all the evil we will ever encounter. In Romans 8, we find exactly what we’re looking for.
