17 years ago today kole was in a coma from a drug overdose. Kole says: I thought my body hated me.
I waged war on her...
I hated her...
And we both almost lost it all.
It took me 9 years to stop surviving and decide to live, even after my coma.
I did save lives with my story, but nothing could stop the shame and guilt I felt for everything I had done wrong.
I was 50 lbs heavier, was borderline type 2, hypothyroidism, anemic, hypoglycemic, fibromyalgia, ovarian torsions, year hospitalizations from endometriosis, arthritis that required shots....was in a toxic marriage...had breast implants...
It’s all gone.
ALL OF IT.
It takes more than dropping the victim label...
You have to take off the survivor badge if you want to be free of the past.
You never forget, you grow beyond it.
I’m grateful to say that I have survived horrific events but have left the verb of surviving in the past with them.
