"When our children are in distress, we know it! Their emotions and behaviors reveal that distress, and we join them in it. The world says that these emotions and behaviors are a function of their brains but do we, as the church, have another perspective that is more biblical and gives us hope?

We do! Scripture tells us that our thinking and emotions come from our immaterial hearts, and they, in turn, produce our behavior. Children in distress are sending a signal that something is wrong in their hearts. We have the opportunity through the good news of the gospel to give hope that change is possible—the lost can be saved, and the saved can grow and change more and more into the image of Jesus Christ. This is the source of true hope not only for our children but also for us as their parents." - Dr. Cheryl Bell.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to host a parenting forum with Dr. Cheryl Bell from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary! Below are a few resources Dr. Bell mentioned in the podcast - we hope you find them helpful!
