We're in a sermon series called "He Shall Be Called" where we're looking at the four Messianic names for Jesus listed in Isaiah 9:6. In this message, we consider Jesus as "Everlasting Father." This can seem like a contradiction since Jesus is not the Father, but Jesus attests in John 10:30, "I and the Father are one." This Sunday, we'll explore three characteristics of our heavenly Father, and also acknowledge our vastly different experiences of "father" on earth. It's obvious that the enemy is strategically attacking this role, which has led to verifiable statistical increases in many personal and societal problems. Nonetheless, our Father hasn't changed. He reveals who He is was, and always will be. He is the one who promises to heal the wounds left by our earthly fathers and meet the needs that have gone unmet.
