Dr Hinemoa Elder is a Māori child and adolescent psychiatrist, author, advocate, and former television presenter. Dr Hinemoa is also a researcher on traumatic brain injury for the Auckland University of Technology, and a member of the New Zealand Mental Health Review Tribunal. She is a staunch advocate for Te Reo Māori and continues her learning journey in te reo.  She has most recently written the book Wawata – Moon Dreaming: Daily Wisdom Guided by Hina, the Māori Moon after the success of Aroha, Māori wisdom for a contented life lived in harmony with the planet, which was named on the Oprah Winfrey Book Club in 2021.
