Continuation of the Luke #1 show: Luke’s Gospel is dedicated to one Theophilus, either to a real person or to all who are friends or lovers of God. Luke states, in one long sentence, that many have made an account of the days of Jesus, he has undertaken this as well so that others may have an orderly rendering of the life and ministry of Jesus. In addition, the opening five verses of John’s Gospel are briefly discussed since the term Logos, or Word, is the way that John reaches out to the Graeco-Roman world much the same as what Luke is attempting.
