Episode: 22

There's so much emphasis placed on being your happy, content glorious perfect self 365 days a year that we forget we're human. We have off days. We neglect our bodies signals that we just need a day to rest and accept that we need to charge ourselves like we charge our phones.

You are not Mary Poppins. You are not a robot. You do not need to put a mask on and pretend everything is okay when you are not okay. You need to go easy on you. You need to give yourself permission to just slob out.

Previously I never gave myself permission to have a day off when I was feeling down (or not okay). I'd push myself because I was expected to get on with it. After all I am a woman. I should just do it.

After embarking on my empowerment journey I realised the importance of being able to acknowledge those days when I was not okay. Why? Because I am human. I have the right to turn off, recharge, reflect and say hey today isn't going to be as productive as the rest of my week and that's okay.

Being a superhero is coolio; but being a superhero that knows when to rest is better.
