Finding True Wisdom

Intro

A. BILDAD’S FINAL PUFF (Job 25).

  1. God is great and majestic (Job 25:2-3).

  2. Man is an unclean maggot (Job 25:4-6).

B. JOB’S FINAL BLAST (Job 26-28).

  1. Job responds to Bildad’s attack (Job 26).

a. Mocks Bildad’s words (Job 26:2-4).

b. God is indeed great (Job 26:5-14).

  1. Job reexamines the prevailing wisdom of the day (Job 27).

a. Asserts his righteousness (Job 27:2-6).

b. Rebukes his friends (Job 27:7-12).

c. Recounts the portion of the wicked (Job 27:13-23).

  1. The challenge of finding wisdom (Job 28).

a. Human ingenuity can discover riches but not wisdom (Job 28:1-11).

b. Wisdom cannot be found on earth nor bought with money (Job 28:12-22).

c. God alone has wisdom and gives it as a gift (Job 28:23-27).

(1) Man’s wisdom is to acknowledge that we can’t find it on our own.

(2) Man’s wisdom is to fear the Lord.
