Responses to the Cornerstone

A. CHRIST THE CORNERSTONE (1 Peter 2:6a; Isa. 28:16).

1. Behold I lay in Zion -

3. Choice/chosen; precious -

B. THE BLESSINGS OF FAITH (1 Peter 2:6b; Isa. 28:16).

1. He who believes in Him will not be disappointed (1 Peter 2:6; Isa. 28:16).

2. Christ is precious (1 Peter 2:7a).

C. THE CONSEQUENCES OF UNBELIEF (1 Peter 2:7b-8).

1. Christ the Cornerstone - rejected, but raised! (1 Peter 2:7; Ps. 118:22).

2. A Stone of stumbling, a rock of offense (1 Peter 2:8; Isa. 8:14).

3. They stumble because they are disobedient to the word.

4. To this, they were appointed (1 Peter 2:8).
