A. SATAN’S ATTACK ON SCRIPTURE (Acts 17:6, 8).

1. What the liberals used to say about the “chief authorities” (Acts 17:6, 8).

2. The vindication of Luke’s accuracy.

B. SATAN’S ATTACK ON THE SAINTS (Acts 17:5-10).

1. “The Jews became jealous” (Acts 17:5).

2. The mob (Acts 17:5).

3. The accusations (Acts 17:6-7):

a. These men (Paul and Silas) have upset the world (Acts 17:6).

b. Jason has welcomed them (guilt by association).

c. They oppose Caesar.

4) The response of the city authorities (Acts 17:8-9).

a. The city rulers were stirred up (Acts 17:8).

b. The “pledge” and its effects (Acts 17:9-10).

c. The role of Satan.

(1) Satan in the synagogue.

(2) Satan in the halls of government (1 Thess. 2:18).
