Take a deep breath. Go on, exhale.
Perspective.
Acknowledge how tiny you are and how massive you can be. Acknowledge that everything, including yourself is made up of parts. All of those countless parts deserve attention. Look where you have yet to look. Look where you hesitate. Look at what you fear most. The evergreen stands tall and green when all else is dormant, hibernating, or dead. Yet, it is not the bulk of the tree that is green. It is the needles. A massive tree, sturdy and weathered, is comprised of a million tiny needles. A pine tree can live for five thousand years while its needles only last five years. An evergreen’s most defining characteristic only scratches the surface of what It is or may become. This is not to overlook the fact that the needles keep the tree alive.
So what’s the point?
Acknowledge that everything, including yourself is made up of parts. All of those countless parts deserve attention AND they have a critical and complicated relationship to each other. Nurture them and integrate them. Give every part of yourself the attention you deserve.
