Rhys and his brother Scott, always look to create their own extreme ultra-endurance challenges, and where schedules match up, complete them together. By doing this they have raised over £50,000 for a variety of different charities, all of which have a special connection to each of them. In recognition of this, Rhys was selected to be an Olympic Torch Bearer for the London Olympics 2012 and is a CF Warriors Charity Ambassador. In his spare time, he has also helped establish a grassroots environmental organisation with his wife Cerys called Repair Café Wales with the aim of reducing waste, sharing skills and building community cohesion. Scott's recognition was via Johnson & Johnson, and was lucky enough to complete an Operation Smile mission in 2015 in Mekele, where he assisted in screening and in theatre for the repair of Cleft Lips and Palates. Scott has overcome some tough mental and physical challenges in order to complete his challenges in the past.
