Queensland held a major summit about housing and homelessness recentlyas the Sunshine State faces a similar crisis to the rest of Australia when it comes to a shortage of housing - including apartments - and a lack of available rentals.
For once we had a state government tackling the issues across the whole spectrum from a dearth of new-builds to providing shelter and support for the homeless.
One near-omission from the report, which you can download HERE, was short-term holiday letting, except to acknowledge that there is an ongoing "review of economic impacts of short-term rental accommodation, including the impact on housing availability."
Meanwhile, skipping lightly over the fact that we completely failed to predict who the next NSW Fair Trading Minister would be, Sue had some good news for apartment owners (and bad news for prospective buyers) in that it looks like the market may have bottomed out.
Is it time to "buy, buy, buy"? Or might you be saying bye-bye to your savings if you jump in too soon. Sue has some sound advice for prospective buyers and sellers in the podcast.
