Kerry had the pleasure of sitting down and speaking with Maricarmen Farias, a world triathlon champion who has an incredible energy and passion for serving others.

Known as MC, Maricarmen did her first triathlon back in 2011 at the age of 22, something that at the time seemed quite impossible. Crossing that first finish line brought so many valuable lessons and a huge desire to explore new possibilities.

Triathlon quickly became a vehicle for MC to set new standards, face fears, inspire, grow and gain confidence and belief in herself.

She is living proof that dreams are possible, that with hard work, relentless determination and support you can achieve anything you desire. Whether your goal is to do your first triathlon or take your current performance to the next level.

Summary:

  • What's your why around fitness? No goal is too big or too small. Don't compare yourself to others.
  • It's not where you were, it's where you want to go forward.
  • Life is a journey of growing and overcoming obstacles. Sport has taught MC this in so many ways.
  • What are the little things you do in your day to set yourself up for success?
  • Personal development - making time for yourself (journaling, meditating, reading, filling up your cup).
  • Movement is vital to your growth and vitality. Does not need to be a triathlon, just add regular movement to your day.
  • Positive affirmation: Be your own hero.
