Ken Glasgow started the College Kickstart program because he saw the lack of opportunities for youth in the area where he grew up.

College KickStart, in particular, their Youth Career Skills program is in alignment with the goals established by and so vital to Westview Centennial High School. The primary goal at Westview is to enable each student to maximize their potential and to be successful in meeting the challenges of post-secondary education and the world of work. Through this practical and proactive program, College KickStart works to support Westview by bridging the gap between education and employment so that our students find themselves prepared and on equal footing with other young candidates in the workforce. We also engage parents and in school teachers to better respond to the specific needs of each individual student. College KickStart’s Youth Career Skills program is a platform whereby educators and corporate professionals mentor youth in key life skills topics. Working in tandem with the education process, the Youth Career Skills program offers in-class Tutoring in Math and English, along with enhanced personal and career development, for better future opportunities. Its goal is to equip our students with the skills, to better compete in today’s fast paced and global environment.
