A poet’s view of 2020.

How will you define 2020?

These poems are about everything

I have overcome in life

And all the lessons learned:

Some good,

Some bad.

But it still taught me about myself

And I’m forever grateful

For everything God has done in my life.

It’s a beautiful thing letting go of the past

And embracing tomorrow.

While writing poetry, there was a global

pandemic, which was an awakening on this planet.

A global revolution was right on the horizon regarding

race in the world. There was so much uncertainty

in the air with COVID-19. It resulted in the

highest number of job losses since the Great

Depression. People were dying at alarming

numbers. The world’s definition of normal has

changed significantly ever since.
