YouTube suggested this to me last night, and it was a HOOT.
I have been aware of the Figwit thing for a long time but somehow managed to miss the fact that Bret McKenzie’s wife made a documentary about it way back in the early 2000s. I love it so much. It’s a time capsule: early internet culture and the World Wide Web; blueberry iMacs; Peter Jackson and other LotR folks playing along; Elijah Wood in a terrible hat; Taika Waititi (credited as Taika Cohen) just, like, hanging around on a couch like proto-Korg; Hebridean dolphins; people being kind and funny about geek culture and not toxic and snarky… So good.
