The prophet Isaiah foretells the coming of a very special child. He describes his arrival as new life springing forth from a stump. And oh the wonders that Isaiah says will occur in the days of this child. Couple this with the strong imagery of John the Baptizer and we might well ask “What kind of child is this?” Join us this Sunday as we celebrate Holy Communion and await the arrival of the one who levels mountains and exalts the lowly, the one whose peaceable kingdom has no end.
