A special inquiry has been launched into the alleged intimidation of a prison doctor by MP Rishad Bathiudeen.

A prison spokesman said the investigation was being led by an assistant police inspector.

Rishad Bathiudeen is currently detained at the Colombo Magazine Prison where the incident is said to have taken place in the examination room.
