It has been reported that a body has been washed ashore at Kakkai Island in the Batticaloa area in Colombo.

Police said the body had been washed away while the isolation law was being enforced. Batticaloa police said that the body was found today.

The face of the body was covered with a cloth and the body of an unidentified person was found with his arms and legs tied with a rope.

Police said the man was found wearing blue denim trousers and a white re-shirt. The body has been taken to the Colombo National Hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the Batticaloa Police have commenced investigations to identify the deceased and the cause of death
