The All Ceylon Ports Employees Union has urged the President to immediately withdraw the decision to transfer 18 acres of land owned by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority and the services of the Ports Authority to a Chinese company.

In a letter sent to the President by the Sri Lanka Ports Public Employees Union, It has been pointed out that the Minister of Ports Rohitha Abeygunawardena has submitted the relevant Cabinet Memorandum to the Cabinet on July 21 and approved it.

The General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Ports Public Employees Union has said that it is unfortunate that the present government is selling the country's national resources one by one to foreign countries.
