Infection has been confirmed for many in the Sri Lankan refugee camp at Perumalpuram under the Kottaram Municipality near Kanyakumari. The camp is home to 552 people from 191 families. Six Sri Lankan refugees living here have recently been diagnosed with corona infection All the six have been admitted to the Corona Medical Center at the District Siddha Hospital in Kottayam. Examination for 50 people who were in contact with themHas been conducted. Three more have been diagnosed with corona infection. An 8-year-old boy, a 25-year-old boy and a 40-year-old man were diagnosed with corona infection. They are being treated intensively. Following this, the Sri Lankan refugee camp at Kottaram Perumalpuram was declared a no-go area and closed.
