_The nurses' union has announced a nationwide strike on Wednesday as none of their demands have been met. The strike will continue from 12 noon to 1 pm tomorrow, said Saman Ratnapriya, president of the Sri Lanka Nurses Association. He also said that he had decided to hold the protest as various demands had been put forward but no response had been received. Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that the nurses abandoned the strike as promised by the President after meeting and discussing with President Gotabhaya during the nurses' strike last month.
