There is much to be admired about prior generations: their strong family values, noble work ethics, simplicity in their way of living, and their love of God and country. They also spoke openly about what was on their mind. Sometimes it was thoughtful, other times perhaps a bit crude, but is was always sincere. While it is never permissible to be rude or unkind, if in fact someone's words were, then that individual was expected to offer an apology bringing forth the conclusion of that incident.
