I'm very active on social media and I cannot count the number of conversations I've witnessed or participated in where people shared opposing viewpoints on a particular issue. Politics, religion, abortion, and gay rights are some of the more volatile topics. It's been my experience to enter into such debates judiciously as most who do so are passionate about their perspective. Regrettably, passion is often coupled with close mindedness as well, which can also lead to ugly hateful remarks.
