This week on Movement Guidance we have Sherri Gonzalez! Originally from League City, Texas, she received her BFA in Dance Theater at AMDA. She has also completed a handful of training programs from Motivating Excellence with Rhapsody James, KMElite, ImBrace with Ian Mckenzie, and recently became a member of the 2022 - 2023 TROUPE COMPANY. Some of her credits include Jennifer Lopez, Tinashe, Jason Derulo, Ava Max, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, Victoria Monet and more. She is a former professional dancer who has worked with LINES Ballet Ensemble in San Francisco and The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company in Israel. After a life changing injury she received her Gyrotonics Certification and later became a Dance Movement Specialist. In 2013 she started Align Fitness by Allie where she is sharing her wealth of knowledge that she wished her 12 year old dancing self would have had. She has worked with dancers both virtually and in-person where she focuses on alignment and current evidence to harness your body's potential as a mover. She also has a fabulous podcast called Beyond The Pointe where she talks with people who have centered their careers around dance. She brings them together to help dancers and parents to be more informed so they can reach their goals in dance.

Originally from Michigan, our guest dropped out of school to pursue her L.A. dreams. She had a short set back when she had to have hip surgery. Seven months after surgery she attended Pulse Dance Convention where she received the Protégé Scholarship and she was back in the swing of things.
