Episode Recap Steven Pressfield’s novel is a great read – short, sweet and kicks you in the butt to take action. I share my thoughts on the book’s beginning and how it can apply to designers as the overcome procrastination.

This book seriously came at the most perfect time. Resistance was getting the best of me.

I took time to listen to others stories hoping to gain some stroke of inspiration. I heard a story from Ellen MacArthur who has sailed around the world the fastest. And she did it at my age – 25.

Those stories are the worst aren’t they? Our brain starts to attack us – “This person is clearly way more successful than I’ll ever be. I haven’t done anything THAT extraordinary yet.”

Now I have this wonderful book by Steven Pressfield to help me find that discernment in fulfilling my calling. I’m sure by the time I get to the end I will have a much clearer understanding of not only how to recognize these demons trying to keep me from fulfilling this calling but how to overcome them.

Steven calls this, the Resistance.
