“I don't think I would care to find peace if I didn't have such a brutal mind.” - Oliver Sleggman
Mindset is everything, especially when dealing with a mental disorder like bipolar. It can make all the difference in the healing process by creating new avenues for connection and support. This requires a change in the way we perceive day to day life and the nature of the disorder. It helps to have helpful tools to choose from, which tends to come naturally for some who are dealing with bipolar disorder, because it becomes a necessity.
This rings true for our guest, Oliver Sleggman, author of “Befriending Bipolar” and “The Broker That Broke Free”, as well as a powerful mental wellness coach. Oliver joins us on today’s episode to tell us his story about living with bipolar disorder and his journey to becoming a mental wellness coach.
Oliver is the epitome of someone who took their healing into their own hands. He created happiness in his life by shifting his perspective from focusing on negativity to positivity, and finding community and connection through his disorder. He talks about how the disorder humbled him to a point where he has learned from his mistakes and now has an arsenal of tools that he wants to share with others dealing with similar issues, so he can make a difference in someone else’s life.
Tune in to hear how you can start trusting the process with a positive attitude and create a supportive network for yourself!
