Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore joined WKEI on Tuned In to discuss Monday's Kewanee City Council. On the whole, it was a relatively quiet meeting with agreements across the agenda. One big item was the discussion of potential new animal ordinances targeting repeat offenders who allow dogs to run at large. Mayor Moore himself floated the idea of being able to hire a part time Animal Control Officer for the City of Kewanee at no extra cost to the City. The Mayor did not lay out the proposal in total, he's still researching, but stated it's a possibility that he's looking into. Inevitably, talk turns to the issues the City of Kewanee has surrounding a pair of former City employees and while the Mayor cannot comment directly regarding City personnel issues, the Mayor did tell WKEI that he feels the City has been transparent as to what transpired and how it was handled.
