• in major harmony, we are building off of the triads (that you have already learned) to teach you the main 4, 4 note chord types

-from the major, minor and diminished triads that have been learned, we will add a 4th note on type using either a major or minor 3rd interval

• Major 7 - 1 3 5 7

• Minor 7 - 1 b3 5 b7

• Dominant 7 - 1 3 5 b7 (the 5 chord of any major key)

• expansion explanation of the 5 to 1 relationship, as well as the large blues use of this sound

• Diminished 7 - 1 b3 b5 b7 (half diminished 7)

-using intervals to find these chords whenever you need them
