DeJuan’s passion for cutting hair began at the age of 14 taking a pair of his mother’s clippers and performing practice cuts on brothers, cousins, classmates and a host of neighborhood kids. DeJuan is a product of the KC metro area and graduated from Ruskin High School. He received his barber training from EaLa Mars Beauty/Barber College. At age 19 DeJuan began his professional barbering career at Deb’s Images where he worked for one year.

In 1997, DeJuan established NaPPS, his first barbershop in Olathe, Kansas. With a growing clientele, in 2009 he opened Purple Label Luxury Barbershop by NaPPS, an eight-man capacity shop with two barbers Aaron Wyatt and Darrin Dillard. Cash flow was well short of the projected budget, but DeJuan’s vision was clear and he stepped out on faith.

Blessed with lots of media coverage and a drive to succeed, Purple Label’s brand awareness began to spread throughout the Overland Park community. Today, Purple Label Barbershop is fully staffed and has a reputation of being one of the top rated and most talked about barber- shops in the area.
