My friend inspired me as she was authentically herself, and we were supposed to go to Pride together last year, but it did not happen. Sadly, she had other commitments that came up, but she said there was always next year. I was going to come out to her, and I remember feeling so proud of her just being her.

I wish I were more open. We were getting closer last year, and it is almost like my only unofficial mentor, who is older than me, is gone.
