We are excited to introduce to you the new Rider 2018.2
release which comes with a load of new features, improvements, and a solid set of bug-fixes. The most important highlights are below:
- Debugger: more understandable call stacks, thread-specific breakpoints,
inspecting and expanding unsafe pointers.
- Docker support has reached the debugger.
- Publish support for ASP.NET Core Web projects.
- Integrated spell checker scans for spelling mistakes and typos in identifiers, comments,
string literals, and more, and provides quick-fixes to resolve each detected problem.
- Rider finally supports all the features from the latest C# 7.3.
- MacBook Touch Bar support for the IDE.
- dotCover support on Windows: Unit test coverage and continuous testing.
- Code completion uses ReSharper’s statistics-based scoring algorithm and
works in scratch files, debugger watches, and C# Interactive.
- Solution Explorer redesign: new toolbar, Scratches and File System views,
and a Folders always on top mode.
- Template editor right in the Rider settings.
- A couple of handy features added to the C# Interactive tool window.
- More advanced Unity support: support for .asmdef and csc.rsp files,
Unity players in the Attach to Unity Process list, Packages and Scratches
nodes in Unity Explorer, and many more exciting additions!
- Frontend development features: TypeScript 2.9/3.0 support, improved support
for React/Angular/Vue.js.
- VCS update: easier resolve of merge conflicts, enhancements in VCS Log tab,
favorite branches in Branch filter, and a Browse repository at revision action
- F# support: File Templates and F# 4.5 features support.
