Between Fury-Chisora III, the failure to make Spence-Crawford & Fury-Joshua, and the Conor Benn doping debacle, I can’t help but feel as disillusioned about boxing lately as I’ve ever been.

The contrast between last Saturday’s major shows, Fury-Chisora III and Estrada-Chocolatito III, illustrated in one night the good, bad and ugly of the sport, as well as the cynical business that underpins it.

Who is sabotaging their career more lately: Jaime Munguia or Demetrius Andrade?

Hopefully the latter lands a meaningful fight of some description next year with PBC.

It’s a quite remarkable story that 40 year old Nina Hughes has won a world title at bantamweight in her fifth fight and less than a year after turning pro.

Making it more impressive, though perhaps demonstrating the lack of depth in women’s boxing still, she only began boxing aged 25 and has accomplished her world title win after a hiatus to have two children.

Now Hughes is in line to fight the winner of Ebanie Bridges-Shannon O’Connell in a unification.

Speaking of ageless wonders, 91 year old Don King put a big smile on my face today by announcing that he will put on another show on January 21st.

It will take place at The Casino Miami, presumably the same airport hangar where about 100 people saw Daniel Dubois run through Trevor Bryan: Let Freedom Ring, Jonathan Guidry vs. Bermane Stiverne.

Now just watch DK somehow make this about the war in Ukraine, and/or Jeff Bezos and Dolly Parton.
