Featured Segments:

(Photo by Jessie Grubb). On Saturday, July 11th, Youth Radio welcomed Skippinn Stones for a live performance and interview. During the session they perform 4 original songs and answer questions about collaborating on music and the local music scene. That’s coming up next on Rewind.

Our archive segment today comes from the November 12, 2019 episode of Interchange titled “‘Are They My Poor?’ Affordable Housing in Bloomington, IN.” In these excerpts, producer Nejla Routsong speaks with Deborah Myerson from South Central Indiana Housing Opportunities about affordable housing struggles in Bloomington and beyond. The full episode is stored as a digital file in the WFHB archives.

(Photo by Aidan Verde).Up next, from the news department – one week ago, WFHB hosted a narrative journalism workshop hosted by volunteer Elyse Perry. The workshop culminated in today’s feature report, exploring the debate over Seminary Pointe, where affordable housing advocates are urging city leaders to reconsider plans to demolish the property for a proposed convention center hotel. We rebroadcast that feature on Rewind.

Earlier today during the Afternoon Music Mix, DJ Disctopia spoke with two representatives from WFIU about the free upcoming Jazz in July concert at the Bartholomew County Public Library, which takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17th. For more, we turn to DJ Disctopia.
