There’s a major difference between knowing when a strategy isn’t working out and giving up too soon. The difference lies in the amount of time you dedicate to the new pivot. If you spend 5% of your time working on the pivot and nothing happens, it’s not that the idea or goal failed, you not only gave up on it too soon but you didn’t even give it a chance. 

If you‘ve tried everything and it’s still not working, then it’s a lesson learned. Time to move onto something else.
