Every year the CSIRO runs CAPSTAN, a unique training program for the next generation of marine science experts. University students from across the country can apply to take part in marine science education on board the research vessel Investigator, Australia’s dedicated ocean research vessel. This program gets students take part in hands-on research, learn about the different aspects of marine science and encourage collaboration. Marine science student from Curtin University Te Huika Mason was one of the students who took part in the recent trip from Perth to Hobart.
