Environmental activist Georgina Woods told us she doesn't really believe in hope. If you see someone drowning in a river, she said, you don't jump in to rescue them just because you hope you might save them. You do it anyway, out of love. Same with fighting for the planet: you don't need to always hope what you doing will be successful. You do it anyway. Georgina spoke to us about many aspects of activism, from the practical, day-to-day stuff, to her underlying beliefs. She brings a poet's heart and intellectual's mind to her work and it is a powerful and inspiring combination. We also hear from Rosemary Vass, who describes herself as a 'Mum, Granny, retired educator' and as being 'Passionate about social justice; educational equity; stopping csg/coal, climate change' as well as 'disability rights and gardening!' Hers is another powerful perspective from someone on the front lines of the endless fight for environmental justice.Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
