In this second message from the ROOTED series, we take the next step from last week’s question: What are we rooted in?

If our lives are rooted in Christ, then we need to ask: How do those roots grow deeper?

Psalm 1 gives us the picture of a tree “planted by streams of water” — nourished, secure and able to grow. In contrast, chaff is blown wherever the wind takes it. In a world filled with voices, opinions and expectations, what is shaping us?

This message explores what it means to be rooted in God's Word. Scripture isn't simply information for our heads; it is something God uses to form and transform our lives. It teaches, challenges, corrects, encourages and shows us how to live.

Rather than simply telling us that we should “read the Bible more”, this message invites us to develop a simple, sustainable rhythm of spending time in God's Word — allowing it to shape our thinking, nourish our souls and anchor our lives.

And ultimately, the Bible keeps pointing us towards Jesus. As we faithfully return to God's Word, our roots grow deeper into Christ, and over time we become a little more patient, a little quicker to forgive, a little slower to judge, and a little more like Jesus.
