“Personalized learning.” We hear and use this phrase all.the.time. Technology amplifies the possibilities of individualizing our experiences, making our preferences customizable, and offering a mind-boggling amount of apps, devices, tools, and platforms aimed at meeting every plausible need. Sure, these variables allow for an almost infinite amount of combinations ensuring that everyone can get what they want and need...BUT...they also create a huge overwhelm. How do we choose with ALL those choices?

Where do we start? How do we know what the right choice is? How do we answer the infamous “everyone else gets to play (fill in the blank) -- why can’t I?” question? As parents, we want to support our children’s interests while keeping their safety and education in mind. As educators, we want -- well, we want the same.
