Mozilla has blocked users in Russia from loading severalcensorship-bypassing add-ons into Firefox.

I am somewhat puzzled by this. Why would Mozilla want to do this?

Also, why would it be effective? I understand it, you can load anadd-on into Firefox if you can access a page where it is distributed.I also don't see what threat Russia could make against Firefox thatcould make Mozilla comply with this demand.
