I have been reading many threads to see which strings I might like best, but I'm having a hard time because I don't understand some of the terms that people use to describe the quality of sound that a particular string makes. I'm not remotely new to music or bass--been a bassist for over 40 years. But some of these terms just make no sense to me.

Please help me out! Ideally, I would like some recordings to show what some of these terms mean. At the least, a good description would help . . ....
