If I’m practicing for guitar, I can pick up any guitar and practice a piece and then perform it with another.

Not so for bass. If I’m practicing, even unplugged, it has to be the bass for the piece.

Am I weird? Is this a bass thing? Do you do this?

Probably doesn’t need to be said that if you’re using a five, you can’t use a four for example. But it has to be the bass otherwise?
