I'm intent on helping a friend's kid as they've decided to ditch their violin (have been playing around 10 years) and pick up the bass. Other than leading them to a life of sore fingers, and a bad back, I'm hoping to help them get a 'beginners' bass and amp. I think the bass selection is covered but I realized I have no idea what amp would be a good option for them.

Currently trying to short list some options but would love some input from TBers. I think it's got to be <$300, wattage...
