I have a recurring MATLAB processing job that analyzes the metadata of the files in a large SharePoint folder. It can take several minutes to get all the metadata. However, the metadata in older files rarely changes. So I thought I would try and implement a local file cache that stores the meta data of all the files, and only goes to SharePoint for new or updated files.
